You’ve settled on a wedding date and you are deciding on a wedding venue, photographer, and other wedding professionals.  Keep these considerations top of mind when shopping around.

The Venue

  • What is the food and beverage minimum?

  • Does the food and beverage minimum vary depending on the day of the week?

  • Will there be other events happening at the same time as my wedding?

  • Is there an overtime fee?

  • Is there a cake-cutting fee?

  • Do you charge a service and gratuity fee, separate from taxes?

  • Is there a difference in price between adults’ meals and kids’ meals?

  • On the wedding day, at what time can the wedding party arrive to start getting ready?

  • May I tour the bridal suite, where members of the bridal party can get ready and leave their personal items during the wedding?

The Caterer

  • What type of food is your expertise?

  • Is there a food and beverage minimum?

  • How many attendants will be serving my guests?

  • Do you charge a service and gratuity fee, separate from taxes?

  • Is there a difference in price between adults’ meals and kids’ meals?

The Event Planner

  • Do you include any of these wedding planning activities in your services?

  • In terms of your availability, do you have any other commitments during the week?

  • How do you keep clients updated on the details of my wedding?  Do you use email or a tracker?

The Florist

Photographer

  • How many photographers come with each package?

  • How many hours will you take photos at my event?

  • How many pictures will I receive in each package?

  • Will I own the copyright to the images taken at my event?

Videographer

  • Do you shoot cinematography?

  • How many videographers will be at my event?

  • How many hours will you shoot video at my event?

We hope these tips will help you during the planning process.  Be sure to get everything in writing and obtain a counter-signed contract.  Lastly, track all of these details and more using Bridal Team.
